The weeks start the day you say yes to the build. Before that:
- Free 45-minute call. Your team shows me how you track the work today. I ask questions. I will not try to sell you anything.
- Free preview in 3 to 5 days. I send images of a potential tracker. Your team and I decide: right track, or updates needed?
Fixed price or hourly: how to choose
- Fixed price works when the job has clear edges. For example: "one list, three views, a reminder flow, and an approval in Teams." You know the cost before you start.
- Hourly or daily works when the scope changes each week, or when you need a person inside your team for months.
- With hourly work, the risk of overruns sits with you. With fixed price, it sits with the builder. Ask what happens if the job takes longer.
What the market charges
Public rate data for this work is thin.
- UK contract rates. ITJobsWatch tracks UK job ads that name Power Automate. For the 6 months to 19 October 2026, the median is £488 a day. The 10th percentile is £308 and the 90th is £589.
- US rates. I found no public, dated source for US freelance rates I would stand behind. Freelance marketplaces show a wide spread.
An hourly or daily rate tells you little until you know the hours. Ask every consultant for a written total and a written list of what is in scope.
License costs you may already cover
- SharePoint, and so Microsoft Lists, comes with Microsoft 365 Business Basic, Standard and Premium.
- Microsoft says Office 365 licenses grant the right to use standard connectors in Power Automate. SharePoint, Outlook, Teams and Approvals are standard connectors.
- Premium connectors need Power Automate Premium, which Microsoft lists at $15 per user per month, paid yearly.
- Check your own plan with your IT admin before you buy anything.
Questions to ask any consultant
- What is the total price, in writing?
- What is in scope, and what counts as a change?
- Who owns the list and the flows after the job ends?
- Do the flows run under one person's account or a shared account?
- What does support cost after go-live?
